Second Chance Wool
The story of Oltview all starts with the wool of the sheep herds in the Transylvanian mountains. These herds graze on natural pastures and mountains and are kept according to traditional methods. Romania has approximately 10 million sheep that together ensure, among other things, that the Romanian landscape is maintained. In our adventures of visiting the herds, we discovered that the wool is often considered waste. Because the sheep walk outside in nature all year round, the wool falls under the category of second choice, or dirty wool, and is thrown away. To keep the sheep healthy, they are sheared every year and therefore every year a huge amount of this second choice sheep wool. And that triggered something in us to do something with this beautiful product. Not second choice, but second chance wool with a new, valuable meaning.
